Reach Out and be the Hands and Feet of Jesus!
Faith Church has worked intentionally over the past several years to become an Externally Focused Church. Eric Swanson, co-authour of The Externally Focused Church, would say that an externally focused church is "internally strong, but they are oriented externally. These churches look for ways to be useful to their communities...they build bridges to their communities instead of walls around themselves." But here is the important key to being outwardly focused, and this can no be overstated. We want to do "good works" in the hope that it might engender "good will" with the ultimate hope that we may have the opporutnity to share the "Good News." We support and host: Community Meals. Each Thursday evening from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. we serve a dinner in The Oasis on our Front Street Campus for those in need of a meal and or fellowship. We are often in need of help with such things as set-up, clean-up, meal prep, serving or shopping. If you can help, contact: Trudy - 947-3758, Peg -- 947-4806 or Randy Burgess -- 947-7082 x39. Safe Harbor is a collaborative ministry of more than 15 churches in the Grand Traverse area providing temporary emergency winter shelter for those in need in our coummunity. This program runs from October through March. There are many opportunities to serve in this ministry. Faith Church will be hosting in 2008. Click here for the 2008-2009 Safe Harbor Schedule.
